  "story": "Sri Lanka runs a free public health service its own population uses, and the private hospitals sit beside rather than instead of it: more comfortable, more expensive, and concentrated in the capital and its suburbs in a way that leaves the rest of the island to the state.\n\n*Trade practice —* the cross-border flow into Colombo is regional and short-haul rather than intercontinental. The Maldives is a ninety-minute flight away with no tertiary hospital of its own, and Colombo is where a Maldivian cardiac or orthopaedic case has long been sent; Indian patients cross for some work in the other direction. This project has read no register that quantifies either, and carries both as the trade's account.\n\n*Inference —* the compactness is the useful fact for a directory.
