There's two kinds of hired break-in. A pen test (penetration test) walks a checklist: every door, every window, and you get a list of what's loose. The guards know they're comin'. A red team plays the crook for real: any way in, guards not told, and the job's done when they're holdin' the silver. Flip the lever, then pick a way in.

Security has its own fairs. Outfits enter a category (best new company, best red team, best of the year), pay an entry, a panel of judges scores 'em, and winners get a trophy at a big dinner and a badge for their website. The chairman runs the judging. A ribbon tells you the judges liked the entry; it don't tell you who else entered.
