A charitable hospital founded in 1443 that has been given vineyard land for five and a half centuries and sells the wine at auction every November to pay for the medicine.

The story Cited

Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philip the Good, and his wife Guigone de Salins built the Hôtel-Dieu with its tiled roof. Donors have left vines to it ever since, and the cuvées carry the donors' names.
