The story Cited
Louis François de Bourbon, prince de Conti, bought it in 1760 through an agent and kept the wine for himself; the name stuck. It survived phylloxera on ungrafted vines until 1945, when the harvest fell to about 2.5 hl/ha and 600 bottles, and the vineyard was pulled and replanted.
