A restaurant and tavern at 145 Allen Street in Buffalo's Allentown, trading since 1969 inside an 1864 brick row house with tin ceilings and two wood-burning fireplaces. Wings go out big and crispy, sauced with Frank's RedHot, at heats the house runs "from mild to suicide-hot." Bon Appétit put them first in Buffalo in 2018, which is how a corner restaurant on a bar street acquired a line at the door.

The building came first. It is "one of the neighborhood's original Tift Row Houses, built in 1864"; the restaurant dates itself "Est. 1969."

In 2018 Bon Appétit's Alex Delaney worked through twelve Western New York wing rooms on camera and ranked three. Gabriel's Gate came first, Elmo's second, Mammoser's third. Visit Buffalo's trail describes what he was ranking as "the standard for a classic wing done right" — crisp, and sauced with Frank's RedHot rather than anything made in the building.

Fried, then sauced in Frank's RedHot at the heat asked for: the house line is "Big, crispy, juicy — sauces from mild to suicide-hot." The room keeps hardwood floors, wooden booths, saloon chandeliers and the fireplaces.

Open seven days as of September 2026, 11:30am to midnight Sunday through Thursday and to 1am Friday and Saturday. The house lists its awards as WNYers Choice wins — French onion soup, burgers, Reuben, mac and cheese, patio — none of them for the wings.
