A 110 scooter and a 1200 adventure bike ride the same road, and neither rider would recognise the other's day.
What it is
Six kinds of machine ride this circuit in numbers. None of them is the wrong answer. What changes between them is which single thing you have to plan around.
The long version
The one thing each bike makes you plan around.
On a 110–160 automatic, it is the brakes. A twist-and-go gives almost no engine braking, so on a road measured at nearly six curves a kilometre the brake does all the work for ten kilometres at a stretch. Plan descents in stages with a stop to let them cool. Everything else about the bike is an advantage here.
On a geared 125, nothing much. Second gear holds the bike down a hairpin descent on the engine, the weight is nothing, every mechanic on the circuit has the parts, and it climbs steadily. Inference — if a single machine had to be named as the best fit for this specific road, the argument for the geared underbone is the hardest one to beat, and it is the cheapest thing in the shop.
On a 250–450 trail bike, it is the highway. The suspension and the 21-inch front make broken edges and the 1263 a non-issue; what you pay for it is a buzzy, tiring hour on the four-lane section of Route 108.
On a 400–700 twin, it is the driveway. Real brakes, real engine braking, enough power for the long straights — and 200 kilograms that needs two people to pick up on a wet concrete ramp where the second person may be an hour away.
On a 700cc-plus adventure bike, it is fatigue. Nothing here is beyond the machine. But a steering input every few seconds for six hours is pleasure at 150 kilograms and work at 250, and the mistakes on this road are made in the last hour of a long day.
On the back, it is everything at once — longer stopping, higher weight behind the axle, and a passenger who cannot see the surface coming. Plan about two-thirds the distance.
What does not change. Inference — the circuit does not sort riders by engine size. It sorts them by whether they know what their own brakes do on the eleventh kilometre of a descent, and that is a question you can answer in one day on the Samoeng loop before committing to four.

The measured numbers that sit under all of this: Route 1095 runs 5.71 curves a kilometre over 185 km, Route 1263 runs 6.03, and Route 1096 runs 6.34. Those densities are what a wrist, a brake and a transmission are each being asked to absorb, and they are the same for everybody.
