"Kolaches" is a double plural and Texas says it anyway.
A sweet bread with a well of fruit or cheese in the middle of puffy yeast dough — tvaroh, jam, poppy seed, or povidla, which is prune. Baked, not fried.

The word comes from Czech and Slovak koláč, from the Old Slavonic kolo, a circle or wheel. Traditional Czech koláče are small, no more than about eight centimetres across, and are village feast and wedding food. Moravian immigrants brought them to the United States.
In American English kolache is often used as the singular and given an extra s, which makes kolaches a double plural. Czech Texans notice.
