The story Cited · wp-donut-wheel

Jack and Jean Weil started Jack's Donut Wheel in 1962, the year they moved to Livermore from San Francisco. The name came from a colleague at Stemple's who pointed out that people said Weil as "wheel". The Weils sold in 1972; it has changed hands since and kept the name. The building went up in 1941.
