Chiang Saen has old city walls and a moat in a rectangular plan. Parts of the wall and city gates remain, showing an ancient city laid out along the Mekong.

วัดป่าสัก

วัดป่าสักมีเจดีย์เก่าที่สร้างด้วยอิฐ ตั้งอยู่ในเขตเมืองเก่า เป็นตัวอย่างสถาปัตยกรรมล้านนายุคต้นที่ยังสมบูรณ์อยู่พอสมควร

Wat Pa Sak holds an old brick chedi inside the old city, an early Lanna structure that remains in fair condition.

Wat Phra That Chedi Luang is a major temple of Chiang Saen, with a tall chedi that is a symbol of the city, said to hold relics.

The Chiang Saen National Museum keeps objects found in the area — Buddha images, inscriptions and ceramics — telling the story of the city and of Lanna across many periods.
