also: IMTJ Summit · Medical Travel Awards

The trade's own annual meeting, run by the trade paper that covers it, with an awards dinner attached.

The trade's own annual gathering, run by the publisher of the International Medical Travel Journal alongside an awards ceremony. Five editions ran between 2015 and 2019 — Athens, Croatia, Madrid, London, then Berlin on 1 to 3 December 2019. The sixth was postponed in 2020 and this project could find no evidence that it ever ran.

The story Cited · imtj-wikipedia

The summit and the awards were one weekend. The awards began first, in Dubai on 5 March 2014, created by Intuition Communication and judged by a panel chaired by the journal's editor in chief. The summit followed, and by 2019 it was running co-located with the awards, a marketplace and Temos's own meeting.

Then it stopped. The 2020 edition was postponed with a notice promising a virtual conference early in 2021 and a face-to-face one in Madrid that autumn; what ran instead was a five-hour online forum and awards on 23 September 2020. The awards site's last published state, captured in September 2024, still carried the 2022 cancellation: the publisher had taken the decision not to run the awards that year and would "make decisions around the next Awards and Summit accordingly".

Inference — the negative evidence is about as strong as negative evidence gets. The summit subdomain has no successful capture after 16 March 2021 and now redirects to a generic events homepage; the awards subdomain has stopped resolving; and a four-thousand-URL listing of the events site holds no IMTJ event page after 2020. A single third-party listing for a September 2022 Madrid summit exists and could not be verified from any source belonging to the organiser, so it is not carried as a fact here.

Today Inference

As of 17 September 2026 no next edition is announced anywhere this project could read, and the two domains that used to announce one are gone or redirected. The field's own annual meeting stopping is a fact about the field worth carrying, which is why this record exists at all.

Notes

The year on this record is 2007, the year the publication was established. It is not the year of the first summit, which is not sourced here.
