Thailand's national hospital accreditation body, a public organisation established by the Royal Decree on the Establishment of the Healthcare Accreditation Institute, B.E. 2552 (2009), with a second edition of the decree in B.E. 2562 (2019). It sets the HA standards, assesses hospitals against them, and publishes the certificate status of accredited facilities. Its motto is "Accreditation is an Educational Process".

The Thai scheme is a public organisation — a Thai legal form that is neither a ministry department nor a private company — and that matters when the mark is read next to the imported one.

A large Bangkok private hospital typically holds both HA and JCI. The first is a domestic standard, administered by a body the state created by decree, covering hospitals across the country including the public ones. The second is an American product bought by hospitals selling to foreigners. Inference — a badge wall showing both is showing two different relationships, and counting them as two accreditations obscures that one is nearly universal among Thai hospitals of any size and the other is a purchase aimed outward.

The standards themselves hold an ISQua EEA award, so the Thai scheme sits in the same external chain as the international ones.

A hospital enters the HA process, which the institute frames as developmental rather than purely inspectional, is assessed, and is certified. Certificate status is published on the institute's own site. The pages read for this record do not state the cycle length or the fee.

As of 16 September 2026 the institute publishes hospital certificate status through its own site and remains the national accreditation body for Thai hospitals.
