The flagship of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services, on a campus of specialist buildings down Soi Soonvijai off New Phetchaburi Road. It opened in 1972 with a team of physicians, pharmacists and thirty nurses, and now runs a heart hospital, a cancer hospital and a bone-and-joint hospital on the same site. It prices a long list of operations publicly, each with a stated window during which the price can be bought.

Bangkok Hospital opened in 1972, among the first private hospitals in Thailand, and grew into the head of a group that runs 53 institutions across the region, fourteen of them holding Joint Commission International accreditation.

The campus model is the thing to notice. Rather than one building with departments, the site carries separate named hospitals — heart, cancer, bone and joint — each with its own entrance and its own price list. Inference — that structure is what lets the group quote a fixed figure for a named operation: a unit that does one class of work all day can predict its own theatre time and its own ward nights closely enough to sell them as a bundle.

The prices come with dates on them. A package page states a window — usable between two dates — and a struck-through higher figure beside the one being asked. Read on 16 September 2026, the arthroscopic knee packages and the robotic abdominal packages both sat inside a campaign running to 31 October 2026, on terms that required a bill over 100,000 baht and at least one night on the ward.

An inquiry reaches an international desk that answers in several languages; a package is quoted for a named operation; the ward nights are counted into the price and anything past them is not. The joint and spine packages are quoted with the implant excluded, which is stated in the package title itself rather than buried in a footnote. The hospital also runs an air-ambulance service, which is unusual enough to be part of how it is chosen.

As of 16 September 2026 the hospital's public package pages list an arthroscopic knee with meniscus repair, one side, implant excluded, at 272,000 baht against a struck-through 286,000, with one night on the ward, usable 31 July to 31 October 2026; and a robotic-assisted cholecystectomy at 330,000 baht against 348,000, also one night. Its awards page states Advanced HA accreditation from the Healthcare Accreditation Institute in 2026 and a Joint Commission International seal without naming its year.
