A regional cosmetic and dental destination with a deep specialist base and a currency that has moved faster than its price lists. Buenos Aires carries almost all of it. The foreign share is modest and regional: a median 5.0% of patients from other locations, at the worldwide median, with an average of 11.6%.

Argentina is the one country in this batch where the mix tips away from the knife. In the ISAPS survey of 2024 it reported 435,936 aesthetic procedures, of which 226,176 were non-surgical and 209,760 surgical — the only one of the Latin American countries this site carries where injectables and devices outnumber operations. Botulinum toxin alone accounted for 59,006 of them.

The professional body is the Sociedad Argentina de Cirugía Plástica, Estética y Reparadora, which maintains a public surgeon finder and puts the reason for it plainly: "Cuando elige un cirujano plástico que sea miembro de la SACPER, puede estar seguro de que su cirujano está calificado". Inference — a society directory answers one question, whether a surgeon is a member of that society. It does not answer what a hospital's infection rate is, or who is on call at the weekend, and no register in this subject answers all three.

Trade practice — the pull for a foreign patient here has usually been the exchange rate rather than a waiting list, and a peso price read in a foreign currency is a different number every few months. This site carries no Argentine price for that reason: a price with a date is a fact, and a converted peso price without one is arithmetic.

Trade practice — consultations are booked directly with the surgeon's consulting room in Recoleta or Palermo, quoted in pesos or in US dollars depending on the practice, and paid on arrival. Domestic private insurance — prepagas — covers reconstructive work and not aesthetic work, and covers nothing for a visitor. Dental courses are staged across two visits in the same way they are everywhere.

As of the 2024 survey year Argentina's reported volume is 435,936 procedures, majority non-surgical, and its foreign-patient share sits at the worldwide median. The figures are survey extrapolations from board-certified plastic surgeons and count no dentistry, which is part of what brings patients across from Paraguay and Brazil.
