The private clinics that take foreign patients sit in the northern and coastal districts of the agglomeration rather than in the old city, and they sell cosmetic and bariatric surgery to a French-speaking market, alongside a separate seaside trade in thalassotherapy. Two claims travel with this city and both need their footing stated. A neighbouring health system under prolonged disruption sends patients across a land border for ordinary care as well as for surgery, and that traffic is a referral trade rather than an elective one.

Trade practice — the Tunis package is quoted per procedure with the nights, the transfers and a convalescence hotel written in, and arranged through an agency that corresponds in French. A deposit holds the date; the balance is paid on arrival. What sits outside is the same list as everywhere — imaging, a complication, a night past the package, and the revision six months later at home.
