A hospital group, not a building: 29 hospitals and 15 medical centres by the Wikipedia count, 45 or more hospitals and clinics by the group's own, spread across Türkiye, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Serbia. Mehmet Ali Aydınlar founded it in Istanbul in 1991; the Malaysian company IHH Healthcare has held the majority since 2011. This record is the group, and its point on the map is the flagship at Altunizade in Üsküdar.

Aydınlar opened the first hospital in 1991 in the Acıbadem district and built outward from it. In 2011 IHH Healthcare, the Malaysian group that also owns Parkway in Singapore and Gleneagles in Kuala Lumpur, bought a majority stake; share conversions in 2018 took its holding to roughly 90 per cent. The shares trade in Istanbul.

Inference — that ownership line matters more to a reader of this directory than any clinical fact on the group's own pages. A patient choosing between Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore on price may be choosing three times between hospitals with one parent.

The group reports seven JCI-accredited hospitals out of the forty-five it counts, 3,300 or more specialist physicians, patients from more than 90 countries, and 55 international patient offices across seven world regions. Those are the group's own numbers, published without a method, and the office count is a sales network rather than a measure of care.

The group also runs its own medical university, Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, founded 2007, and its IVF centres report treating over 15,000 families a year.

Enquiries reach the group through the international site rather than through any one hospital, and are routed to whichever hospital holds the programme. Trade practice — the estimate comes by email after records are read, and the patient learns which of the forty-five buildings is meant at that point rather than before it.

On price the group publishes nothing. Its Turkish check-up page is titled Check Up Paketleri ve Fiyatları 2026 — check-up packages and prices — and lists every programme by its contents: a Classic for women with three examinations, five radiology tests, twenty-six laboratory tests; an Executive with a whole-body MRI at nine, nine and fifty-three. Against each one, where a figure would sit, is a button reading Fiyat Sor: ask the price.

As of 17 September 2026 the group states 45 or more hospitals and clinics in five countries, seven of them JCI-accredited, 3,300 or more specialist physicians in 19 specialties, and support in more than 20 languages. Neither the group site nor the Turkish site publishes a bed count, a patient count for any single hospital, or any price.
